The elongation of Poniente breakwater was finished in 1916 and protects the ships against western winds.  At its end, there is the lighthouse, built in 1923.

The Royal staircase was transferred, Stone by Stone from its initial location in the Port. It was call like that because in 1862 it was used to disembark Queen  Isabel II, in her visit to Almería.

The “Cable Inglés” (1904) is a huge facility to discharge iron ore that was brought by railway from Guadix (Granada Province), and that was in use until 1970.
